About me
Developing software. Sharing knowledge.
I am Bernd Fischer, a software developer and technical trainer. I have been developing software for more than 25 years. Today, I help development teams master Python, modern web technologies and AI engineering in practice.

Engineering
Software engineering is my foundation.
I have been developing professional software systems for more than 25 years. Today, my focus is on Python, backend development, Django, APIs, data processing, architecture and modern development processes.
This practical experience shapes my training. It is about more than knowing how to use a technology. It is about making sound technical decisions and developing software that is understandable, testable and maintainable.
Training
Explaining technology without oversimplifying it.
I have worked as a technical trainer since 2020. I deliver corporate training, public courses and workshops, teaching technical subjects to developers and professional software teams.
Theory matters. What matters most to me, though, is that participants understand how to apply concepts in real projects. My training therefore combines technical foundations with extensive practical work and experience from software development.

AI Engineering
For me, AI is software engineering.
Generative AI becomes particularly interesting to me when an experiment turns into a robust software system. That is why I work on the entire technical integration, beyond LLMs and prompting alone.
Retrieval, embeddings, vector search, tool calling and agents meet established topics such as APIs, data models, tests, architecture and deployment. This intersection of AI and software engineering is a key focus of my work today.
04 / Beyond the classroom
Technology has always been more than a job to me.
2006
Digital art and new media
In 2006, my work “Odysseus random webcrawler” was nominated for the “Neue Medien: On- Offline” competition organized by IBM Germany at the Württembergischer Kunstverein Stuttgart. The project explored the web itself as a medium and experimented with automated navigation through digital information spaces.
10 years
Volunteering at BürgerStiftung München
For around ten years, I volunteered at BürgerStiftung München, serving as IT administrator for the technical infrastructure of its job mentoring program.
1990s
Electronic music and sound experiments
In the 1990s, I experimented with electronic sound generation for Soundlab. Among other projects, I co-created the music for a Jugend forscht awards ceremony at the Technical University of Munich in Garching.
My approach
Hardware stays. Software comes and goes. Good engineering remains.
Software changes. The craft behind it remains.
Technologies constantly evolve. Good software development still requires the same foundations: understanding, questioning, experimenting and making informed technical decisions. That is what I want to convey in my training.
